» iPhone XR Design, Display and Price

iPhone XR  is launched in between the iPhone XS and XS MAX is released in 2018, and iPhone XR  comes with most impressive of the three iPhones through the iPhone XS is slightly ahead among all but the ZR will give you a premium feel with a multitude of colors, good battery life even affordable in lower price. An iPhone XR  you can buy for USD $749 (64GB), $799 (128GB), $899 (256GB) and EU £749 (64GB), £799 (128GB), £899 (256GB) and AU$1,229 (64GB), AU$1,299 (128GB), AU$1,479 (256GB) selected storages.

The iPhone XR  design comes in more familiar with iPhone XS and XS MAX. You can see the notch at the top on the front of the display, rounded edges, the metal back which is also polished up with aluminum and glass gives you a more striking feel in the hand overall also premium feel. The glass on the front of the XR display is meant to be among the strongest material in the industry, and the same material which is used on the iPhone XS but the glass of back is not stronger than the front build-up though it is looking at the impressive iPhone.

The Phone has followed button pattern as 2017’s iPhone X, with the large Siri / lock button where the power key previously placed, and the volume buttons and silencer rocker on the right. A simple click on the side it can able to mute the headphones but still it easily turns itself to the sound blaring setting when you take it out a pocket or similar (means you may get tunes blaring out, after a few seconds of glaring around to see who is left their phone’s sound on).

The bottom of a new iPhone is still sadly no longer available the headphone jack and replaced it with the Lightning connector for getting audio out – be sure that the headphones jack will not bring back even in the newer version of iPhone release in the future.

The speakers top and bottom transmit stereo quality sound which also records video in the same way. However, the iPhone XR  is just XR is ‘only’ IP67 rated where iPhone XS and XS MAX are IP68 rated but, the water resistance level on the iPhone XR  is good enough for most people, meaning you can easily wash it if the things are getting dirty.

As a new user of iPhone series, you will be excited to see the ‘Notch’ on the top of the display which contains some important elements of the Face ID camera, front-facing snapper (for capturing selfie), and all the other sensors in there which help your phone to work. Apple never wants to make their users hopeless so they brought the same display size even a bit larger than XS max.

The iPhone XR  has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD technology which is delivering sharp lines and punchy colors, with a density of 326 pixels per inch. But we must say something about the display resolution of iPhone XR  between iPhone XS, our comparison for both phones shows the result is iPhone XS display resolution is good than the iPhone XR. It’s a poor reproduction indeed.

However, Apple proudly tells us that the Liquid Retina display is one of the most advanced technologies that introduce by Apple in the market and fully-rounded edges display that is uniform top and bottom of the phone. HDR a feature that everyone expects nowadays but unfortunately iPhone XR  screen is not designed for HDR but Apple technically designed their new phone’s display which works like HDR while you are watching movies. It supports HDR style, so elements are not looking bad at all but so quite good – it’s average.

» iPhone XR Camera

When first time user of iPhone, you might be a wonder to take a shot by iPhone XR? And after taking some shot by it, you will not be impressed on its camera. Yes, camera on iPhone XR  is not so decent that everyone expects from Apple but Apple to their new phone camera quality is not improvised as they did on iPhone XS and iPhone XS MAX.

However, the iPhone XR  powerful at times, and often just takes a good snap without much work. Sensor from the secondary camera doesn’t quite hit the heights of those on the XS and XS MAX, both devices offer you some truly stunning snaps at times, with incredible detail and brightness.

On the other hand, XR is not that far behind. We did be happy while taking some photos. Comparing photos between iPhone XR  and iPhone XS or XS MAX was similar in terms of lighting and colors but with the iPhone XS or XS MAX taking pictures more vibrant color and more saturated where XS and MAX image was instantly more appealing.

iPhone XR  also struggling to take pictures in portrait mode where XS and MAX doing excellent job and XR is just technically using its software algorithm to detect where the human body ends and the background begins, so depending on that it knows which parts of the image to blur but the bokeh while taking photos in portrait mode is no longer available.

However, you will not find large differences between XR and XS or MAX while you are switching its smart HDR mode, the HDR mode working well so far. For your better understand, let’s see our example that we checked when we have got an iPhone XR  on our hands, while shooting anything with a touch of sky or cloud, there is a bit different noticeable and the little flicker of Live Video uses the raw video footage shot from the sensor, show you how much subjects or things are improved when the moving image jumps into the final, and you may see the effects of the various processing tricks.

The version of this phone, the things may get your satisfaction is its Low-Light sensitivity, there is not massive different of the images quality but if the subject is being viewed close-up. It really brings out the brightness of selected subjects and revealing lights than the human eye to see it better.

Overall, we are not blaming is that the camera quality is not good – it is just fine, and it can heads-up to toe with a multitude of other handsets on the market. The HDR capabilities are remaining on the XS or XS MAX even XR though it is not quite as incredible as in the more expensive model, the low light performance will continue side by side of impressive.

The front-facing camera knows as selfie camera nowadays on other platform is more attractive where it loses the reputation of its secondary camera. The front-facing camera able to take a good selfie with a blurred background – such impressive, even the front camera taking a good quality picture in the Low-lights and can take picture’s background blur.

And if there lighting effect you can see a real difference. Overall of review, we think the iPhone XR  is better for selfie cameras around, even if for nothing else but the ease of use.

» Battery Life

The iPhone XR  completely undoubtedly it’s battery life. As you user of XR or XS or even XS MAX, you can completely last for the whole day without causing battery anxiety which is Apple’s big claims, using the same A12 Bionic chip and iOS 12 and its power management and some cloud-based CPU intensive app such as car navigation system on GPS can last a whole day even the lost charge under 20%, is able to go into a nice power-saving mode.

Inside the heart of the phone chip (A12 Bionic), 3GB of RAM (compared to the 4GB in the XS pair) and the LCD display offers a power-efficient experience where Apple has brought a high-end OLED display on other phones.

The iPhone XR  is such a power-efficient powerful device. Let’s make you clear with a relevant example: starting a day with a fully charged battery, and in the morning, you messaged to your friends for some and keep your phone in the bag-pack until midday, and barely any charge had dropped. And when you need some intensive use different web browsing, messaging, and scrolling through Facebook or Twitter which is the regular task we do but despite all that useful when you see the battery has dropped 22% – that’s incredible.

And another battery killer process we are going to show that, if you connect your XR as a hotspot on the way to work while doing some Bluetooth streaming, the phone didn’t even dip below 90% where past released phone consumed catastrophically. This result is pretty awesome we have got from iPhone XS, XS MAX even XR now where the past model of phone did not show the same result at all.
